Whats happening at ChodovePeople.Com

I thought it would be best to keep everyone up to date on the happenings around the site.

For starters, the new format, a canned app called Drupal, instead of a custom site designed by me, is a bit of a pain. It does add some functions I hadn't gotten to yet, but it also doesn't do a lot that I loved about the site.

For now I am adding functions slowly. See, using this application is like learning a whole new programming language, so give me some time.

I have added one neat function:

Relationships....!

You can now link up with other users by marking a relationship between you.

Each user with a paid subscription can have their own blog, contact form, guestbook, etc. within the site. Some of these funtions are available to registered users.

If you already have a subscription, hang on as I figure out how to import your info. If you want to sign up and send me an email that you have done so and it will be easy for me to get you back in the swing of things on the site!

If you are going to become a member, PLEASE USE YOUR REAL NAME AS THE USERNAME so that everyone knows who you are and can connect and relate with you.

I am just getting to the areas of adding content. I had tried right at the beginning but found that I didn't quite get how it all worked. So I had to shut that off for now until I got the basics down pat. Now I am off to the races with functions that will be helpful.

There will soon be a place for subscribing members to upload their GED's and such.

Subscriptions and purchasing them, at the moment, have been suspended. This is due to the change in scripting behind the site.

There will also be new prices in effect when things get back to normal, which will be something like:

$5 per month, $30 per year, $1000 per lifetime.

The reason the lifetime subscription will still stay so high is that it comes with a "Research Package". (I view my time as valuable and when someone commits a lifetime of use to me I am going to spend a long time helping them to research their family history.)

This website provides a place for Chod descendants to gather and share their family information. It also provides a place where I can showcase my talents at website building and genealogy.
