Agnes Weselak passed away peacefully with her loving family at her bedside, on Oct, 23, 2009, at the age of 89, at the High River Hospital and Nursing Home in High River, Alta.
Agnes was born on Nov. 22, 1919, in the Hazelcliffe area. She married James Weselak June 3, 1941, and farmed with him in the Vallar area near Gerald, Sask., raising their four children.
Due to Jim’s failing health they moved to Esterhazy, Sask,. in 1966. Jim continued to grain farm until his passing on Jan. 11, 1974.
Agnes continued to work in Esterhazy doing various jobs. She moved to High River, Alta., 17 years ago to be closer to her family. She lived on her own until her health started to fail, at which time she moved into the long term care facility in High River, where she resided until her passing.
Agnes enjoyed baking, cooking, canning and gardening, which her family appreciated very much. She liked bingo and was an avid reader.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes was held on Nov. 3, 2009, at Our Lady of Victories Church, with Father Albert Schmitz as celebrant.
The organist was Cec Rocen. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Esterhazy.
Agnes leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her children; Larry Weselak, Marj Weselak, Calgary, AB., Lloyd (Debra) Weselak, High River, AB., Lorna (Brent) Hanson, High River, AB., Lorne (Janet) Weselak, Calgary, AB., grandchildren; Tim Weselak, Calgary, AB., Tami (Chad) Skappak, Acadia Valley, AB., Terry Weselak, Calgary, AB., Joel Hanson, Troy Hanson, High River, AB., Scott Weselak, Calgary, AB., Michael (Shaidy) Weselak, Stettler, AB.; great-grandchildren: Reese and Rylan Skappak, Acadia Valley, AB., Ahky and Nevais Weselak, Stettler, AB., and extended family members.
She was predeceased by her husband James; parents Joseph and Sophia Gregga; and three brothers, Joe (Florence), Edward (Anne) and Andrew (Flo) Gregga. She will be missed by all.
