Paulette Gilchuk - How do I relate?

I am the wife of a Chod Descendant.
&
My children are Chod Descendants.

How do I relate?

I am the granddaughter of Alexander Sim, son of Alexander Sim (b 1866) and Margaret J Walker.
Used to live in Sarnia, On, now in Texas until we sell and move back north.

Any info you have about the confusing Alexanders will be gratefully received/

Jan Sladky Kozina Chods in Domalize

I have always been told that our ancestors in Domalize were decendents of Jan Sladky, but have never been able to verify this information.

My family spoke Czech, but I do not as I was to be "an American" as my father and cousins did not learn English until they entered kindergarden.

Any information regarding Jan Sladky or the Kozina family still in Czech would be greatly appreciated.

I do have postcards & several wooden plates with Jan Sladky Kozina with his dog & staff, much like his monument on them.
My aunts/uncles traveled to Czech in the 1950s and then later in the 1980s to the Novy Bydzov area where my grandmother was born.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Connie

Kozina Descendants

One of the things we will be digging deeper into are the Chod families that do not directly relate to the ones that came to Gerald, SK.
Please give more details as to your grandparents names and such. I will gladly start hunting out those details.
Also, in the near future we will be allowing users to add their own family information so that we can help add to it and get us all connected.

How do I relate?

Hmmmmmmm

I am the wife of a Chod descendant. The great grandfather, Kellner, was born coming over to Canada. Born at sea. The son, was born in Gerald, and his son, was also born there. My father in law, George, migrated East to Ontario. Settled there and had 7 children. the youngest son, Edward, is my husband. He in turn migrated East to Nova Scotia through his joining the Navy. and here he stays!

I am also the mom to 2 wonderful Chod descendants......

Pleased to read your interest about Chod ancestors. I like your comment that you are Mom of 2 wonderful Chod.
Paulette researched passenger list immigration
records for Hamburg & Liverpool. Now understand arrival to Canada of the in-law Kellner & Fiala families in 1891. They were the first of our Chod ancestors to arrive to the Esterhazy area of Sask.
Appreciate receiving birth marriage info for Ed, you, Lance & Alexandra?
Pleased to send you report
about Kellner & Fiala arrival along with other updates.
Roy Rushka, Senior Chod

WOW

You are a Chod family for sure!
If you can, send me a bit more details (birthdays) and I will see what I can come up with. We have tons of information which means that there are many people with the same names in the tree.
