Marion Esther Urzada (nee Zeleny) - 1938 to Aug 2009

Marion Esther Urzada (nee Zeleny)
June 23, 1938 - Aug. 15, 2009

Marion was born on the family farm in the Zeneta district on June 23, 1938, to Charlie and Annie (Green) Zeleny. She attended Reeves School and helped on the family farm as everyone did in those years.
She spent many years working at a local store in town, and ventured away from home working in Melville and Thompson, Man. in her youth.
In 1965, Marion married Bernard Prazma, and they were blessed with two children, Arney and Rita. In the years to follow she took on many jobs such as cleaning, child care and selling Avon, but was always a homemaker and mother first.
In 1993, she lost Bernie to Emphysema.
In 1998, Marion found love again when she married Emil Urzada. They shared their passion for gardening and had the yard to prove it. She loved crocheting and needlepoint, cooking and baking, collecting antiques and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
They had 11 wonderful years together until Emil’s passing this past March from congestive heart failure.
On the morning of Aug. 15, Mom passed away peacefully with her children at her side at St. Anthony’s hospital in Esterhazy, after losing her long and ongoing battle with cancer and heart disease.
Marion is predeceased by her parents Charlie and Annie Zeleny, husbands Bernie and Emil and stepson Sheldon.
Marion is survived by her son Arney (Chris), Taylor and Lauren Prazma, and her daughter Rita (Shawn), Brandon, Jessica, Jenna and Kaylee Mills. As well as step-children from her marriage to Emil: Shannon, Sheila, Shawna, Mike, Mark, Shawn, Shayne, Pierette, Paulette, Myles, Morgan and Mason, along with their spouses and children.
A celebration of the life of Marion was held at St. Andrew’s United Church in Esterhazy on Aug. 18, 2009, with Reverend Susan Griffith as officiant. Peggy Pedersen was the organist. Honourary pallbearers were all those in attendance. The interment was at the Esterhazy town cemetery.
For those wishing to do so, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
